As it’s now feeling like winter is here, I thought it would be a good time to start talking about the winter trends that will be seen everywhere this cold winter!
When it comes to winter fashion, it’s rare if it changes – some years bright colours are in and different textures, but this year is all about dark colours and once again the beautiful velvet. To jump on the winter fashion trend, look for dark colours like navy (because navy is always a winter statement), burgundy and olive! Also a lot of tailored blazer are being a statement in winter, but the most biggest trend is oversized everything!
The first major trend is oversized shirts, and when I say oversized shirts I don’t mean a baggy tee. Detailed sleeves/cuffs are so in right now, especially oversized sleeves with major cuffs. This trend is so easy to style with a nice fitting pair of jeans or trousers.
So this next trend is something that has been so big this year and wont be going out of style anytime soon! Patchwork jeans have big such a big hit this year and they’re still nowhere near close to going out of style. To keep summer jeans and winter jeans seperate, go for more of a darker colour jean with lighter patches or have the patchwork slightly darker than the jeans.

This trend is one of those trends where you either love it or completely hate it – velvet. Yes, velvet is coming back this winter and it’s going to be fabulous; to keep up with the trend stick with dark colours.
As winter trend is so far all about oversized sleeves, another major trend is oversized outwear! Any coat, jacket, jumper, hoodie that is oversized is totally in – it doesn’t have to already be an oversized garment, the tip for buying something you want to be oversized is going a few sizes up.
This last trend is something I find myself always talking about in every post I do – statement boots. They’re the most important and life changing winter trend and all year round trend. Statement shoes can really change and outfit, and just because statement shoes are mean’t to make a statement doesn’t been they need to be crazy shoes. This winter, try burgundy statement shoes – they will change the way you dress this winter.
