So it’s that time of the year where everyone “fashion” gets together to celebrate the most important day of the year – the Met Gala.
If you’re obsessed with fashion or not, the Met is such an amazing day because who doesn’t love seeing red carpet outfits?
So this years theme is Comme des Garçons and if you’re not familiar with the brand than google it – the founder/ Creative director Rei Kawabuko is known for taking fashion to the next level.
There’s nothing I love more than waking up and seeing what’s on the red carpet, so I thought I’d put together my top 10 favourites and top 10 not so favourties from the Met Gala!
TOP 10 FAVOURTIES
Aymeline Valade in Marni – I love this outfit because 1, it’s a suit and 2, it stands out so much.
Halle Berry in Atelier Versace – I love this gown, that’s all I can say!
Ashley Graham in custom H&M – I love this outfit because it totally nailed the theme!
Candice Swanepoel in custom Topshop – Maybe I’m a bit bias because I love Candice, but this gown was just stunning. She really surprised everyone and I love how it wasn’t a usual tight fitting dress.
Cara Delevingne in Chanel – We all knew Cara would be in Chanel, no surprise there. I do love this suit, I think it looks amazing.
Liu Wen in Off-White – I can’t express how much I love this dress; STUNNING!
Zendaya in Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda – This has to be my favourite red carpet piece I’ve seen from Zendaya. She is so chic and can pull off the most beautiful garments.
Lily Aldridge in Ralph Lauren – At first I thought wow this is all so much, but after my brain calmed down a little I thought everything tied in perfectly together.
Blake Lively in Atelier Versace – Once again such a bias opinion because I’m so obsessed with Blake, but this dress was just stunning. The gold and then the blue on the train was just to die for.
Rihanna in Comme des Garcons – I feel like we all saw this coming. Rihanna is always best dressed at the Met, and she totally killed it in the Comme des Garcons piece.
TOP 10 WORST DRESSED
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen wearing The Row – It makes me sad putting my favourite designers in the worst dressed list, but it looks like they just came back from Coachella.
Kylie Jenner in Atelier Versace – Did Kylie miss the theme memo? She may be known for her curves like her sisters, but it’s getting a bit boring, every red carpet outfit of hers is the same.
Rita Ora in custom Marchesa – I think this piece fits the theme perfectly, but there’s something about it I don’t love.
Karlie Kloss in custom Carolina Herrera – I’m such a Karlie fan, but I’m not loving this. Her outfit is too simple and boring.
Kendall Jenner in La Perla haute couture – Just like Kylie, it’s so predictable. Not a fan at all.
Karen Elson in Zac Posen – I love Zac Posen, but I don’t love this. When you’re someone with pale skin don’t go for a blush dress.
Paris Jackson in Calvin Klein – Once again, too simple.
Bella Hadid in Alexander Wang – Not a fan of body suits, they look tacky, especially at the Met. Could’ve gone for something more classy.
Sofia Richie in Topshop – The dress looks too big and the material doesn’t look good at all. I’m confused about how it was all meant to look?
Madonna in Moschino – WHYYYYYY?????? I don’t like anything about this. It looks terrible. Sorry Madonna but find a new stylist.
I must say I’m extremely disappointed with how everyone was dressed for this years Met. From stunning outfits to really tacky ones, I’m expecting next year to be better.
