From the title you may have a laugh because we all know how important shoes are, duh! But I when I talk about the importance of shoes I mean outfit wise!
This blog post might be a bit different because there’s no styling, how to, or anything like that – today it’s just a talk! I’ve been seeing a lot of articles about how shoes are important and I couldn’t agree more!
I’m someone who plans my outfit in my head before I wear it ( does anyone else do that or just me?) and sometimes I totally hate my outfit and I can never understand why because I’ve worn it before and it looks good in my head – but it’s all about the shoes! When someone tells you shoes will make or break your outfit, you need to listen! Shoes are the most powerful thing in the whole outfit. If you’re a handbag person I’m sorry to say but shoes make the outfit, shoes are the perfect statement. Shoes can dress anything up or down, make it super fancy and out there or just really simple and casual.
We all know the purpose of shoes, but why is it so hard finding the right ones to wear with outfits? My tip is when it doubt go with what you know! Sometimes I want to try something different and I’m running late so I don’t risk it. Another tip is RISK IT! I know that’s so confusing because I just said don’t risk it, but if you’re someone who is a bit sick of wearing the same outfits and the same shoes, go for something that’s a statement, especially when it’s a monochromatic outfit.
Whether you’re a shoe lover or you don’t care, always remember shoes will make or break your outfit! If you’re wearing a dress with sandals, don’t be afraid of sneakers. The best thing to do when experimenting with shoes is try it on either the day before or a few hours before you go somewhere and get used to the idea of something different! Don’t be afraid to go crazy!
If I haven’t sold you on why shoes are so important, here are my three favourite shoe quotes by the most amazing ladies!
‘Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.’ – Marilyn Monroe
‘A woman with good shoes is never ugly.’ – Coco Chanel
‘If your hair is done properly and you’re wearing good shoes, you can get away with anything.’ – Iris Apfel
