Welcome back to my blog! For today’s post I wanted to continue with my “How to dress like a Fashion Blogger” series.
The “Fashion Blogger” I’ll be talking about today is Amanda Shadforth AKA Oracle Fox! I’ve been obsessed with Amanda since I saw her on the tv show “Fashion Bloggers” and since then I’ve completely fallen in love with her style. If you follow Amanda you’ll know her style is very simple but with a twist – she loves flares and oversized pieces, but she totally rocks the basics and adds her own twist on them.

Now onto the tips! If you haven’t read my post about HOW TO FIND PERSONAL STYLE , give it a read – this series isn’t me trying to copy the look of other bloggers, it only for inspiration, and affordable alternatives for those who like the same pieces.
STICK WITH THE BASICS – This first tip is simple so I won’t talk about it much. If you follow Amanda you’ll know she’s keeping it simple with colours and she will always go back to something like jeans or a white tee. Having a basic as the base of your outfit will make styling a lot easier.
DON’T BE AFRAID OF CUTS – Now this tip might sound a little bit weird, but if you’re wanting some inspiration from Amanda, you’ll know for sure she isn’t afraid to wear a blouse, and not your basic one, something that’s crazy and over the top, but so elegant. Oversized/ bell sleeves are the way to go – which leads me into my third tip.
OVERSIZED – As you’ll notice looking at Amanda’s style she loves oversized pieces. I love oversized pieces because they’re really fun to style but sometimes you need to remember that if you’re styling something oversized, make the other half something fitted. So if you’re styling an oversized top, fitted bottoms are always best because they balance the proportion and not make the outfit look “sloppy”.

FLARES – I’m going to keep this tip really simple, but flares are amazing. If you’re someone who is scared of flares, don’t be – there’s so many different types and lengths, and they make your legs longer and thinner. I’m currently living in my flares and they’re one of the best things I’ve ever added into my wardrobe. ( PS, how to style flared trousers will be up on the blog soon!)

SUIT IT UP – Not actually, but if you want a clean but fashionable look, a blazer is the way to go. I don’t think I’ve spoken much about blazers on my blog but they’re perfect. They’re perfect for dressing something up and they don’t always give a “business” vibe. I love a blazer that’s slightly oversized because I can wear it with jeans and a basic tee and it adds a little extra to my outfit.
ACCESSORIES – Normally I’ll talk about a shoe or a bag, but this post has been a bit of a challenge for me. I spent a good 20 minutes stalking Amanda’s instagram page trying to find a go-to style of shoe, but she wears so many different types and styles I gave up – BUT the one thing I did notice is the detail that is always on her outfits. By detail I mean a necklace or earrings, and wow it makes a difference. I’m not someone who can wear stand out jewelry, so I like things that are small and simple, but can also make a statement. Gold always has an “expensive” look, but I love the look of pearls, I think they’re so elegant and give a Coco Chanel vibe.
